Hi. Tony Kees here. Perhaps you've heard of Skilltime in your soccer pursuits & travels. The name Skilltime began as a name for soccer skills classes that I created in 1986. In the beginning I taught Coerver type skills and incorporated music to add an element of rhythm for the students. It became very popular and so I began to expand the classes, traveling to different venues and towns to teach Skilltime. As the years went by, and my education in the game advanced, Skilltime evolved with me. Through attendance at the USSF & NSCAA coaching courses and the ODP symposiums and the NSCAA coaches convention I have constantly been updating Skilltime to keep it on the leading edge of soccer skill development.
As I became more involved in soccer I began to create my own camps. I have two that I feel are different and fill a void in the seemingly endless array of camp offerings that are out there. They are "The Skilltime Week of Fun" camp and "The Skilltime Finishing and Goalkeeper" camp. Both camps are different and more relevant than anything that is offered in our area and is worthy of the Skilltime name. As the game of soccer evolves, so too does the training. The latest trend in soccer training is the hiring of a personal trainer. I jumped on this (a number of years ago) because I was fascinated by the rapid development of young proteges in other sports such as tennis, figure skating, and gymnastics. So, in the winter of 1997, I began researching the science of personal training with Dr. Don Grossnickle, assistant principal at Addison Trail H.S. Dr. Grossnickle was equally interested in the concept of personal training. His son Todd became my first protege (had a successful 4 year career at Ohio State). It then grew to classes of 3-4 high level ODP players. Today, I offer personal training and classes of 6-10 players per class. I learned that the work-to-rest ratios and the variety offered in the one vs. one training were optimal with this number of students.

Skilltime is a trademark name that I use to identify and organize the different
types of training that I do. If you have been a part of a Skilltime offering
in any of its forms, thank you first for showing ambition and a willingness to
move forward in the game, and also for being part of the evolution and growth
of the great sport of soccer.
